Life is full of good things - Day4

Trying my best to pick out all the good moments from today.
  1. I'm damn sleepy, but my strong resolve made me create this blog. Another example of my strength. If only I apply it for few times, I'd be close to being perfect ! he he he !
  2. Made mom happy by taking her to the Ashtalakshmi temple she has been asking for. The temple houses different Lakshmis along with Perumal, Anjenaya etc. The temple is undergoing renovation currently. Quite a few narrow staircases and thankfully, very few visitors when we went and hence had a peaceful darshan at all sannithis.
  3. Relatively less traffic on the return route and visited Pratiyangira temple as well. This was a surprise for me as I couldn't go the last time when parents made a visit. This temple has very different types of statues and huge idols. The priests were full of devotion when compared to the commercialised temples. May She give me the strength I need !
I stop here for today though the list is small today! Had a difficult discussion at work today and that mood had spilled over. Tomorrow is a different day!

Life is full of good things - Day3

Due to tiredness, I couldn't enter the great moments of yesterday though I had mentally prepared the post.
  1. Its still weekend and with that thought, I dint get out of bed till 9 am! After a long time.
  2. Was feeling feverish and so lazed the entire day with yummy meal breaks. Am glad that I dint fall sick.
  3. Had a leisurely walk in the park late evening.
  4. It's friendship day :-)

Life is full of good things - Day2

Today has been an eventful day. Though there were few events which made life more challenging, I want to remind myself of the good things that brought solace and comfort.
  1. Shopping till the legs got tired. I purchased cosmetics after years I should say. Though the prices have skyrocketed, I was happy to buy the different brands under one roof. :D
  2. Met a friend's friend, a jolly go lucky person. Feels good to meet new people.
  3. Though it was already late in the night, my mom gave me the option of dining out. Appreciate her confidence in me.
  4. When a drunkard rammed his bike into our car damaging the headlights, the mob dint shout at us. By God's grace, all are safe. Thank you my Lord!
  5. We immediately got down from the car and called friends. 4 of them came immediately and helped us back into our senses and dropped me home. Bless them.
I'm drowsy after a tiring day. Looking forward for a better tomorrow ;-)

Life is full of good things - Day1

I loved a friend's post and got inspired to write about the good things that happen to us, on a daily basis for a week. I have cribbed about issues, wondered about happenings and questioned a lot of things. For a change, I want to appreciate the small small things all around me. One's life is full of nice moments and good omens only if we care to notice.
So, here is my first attempt to list the nice feelings all through the day
  1. Its Friday -the beginning of a weekend brightens the mood and puts a smile on the face :-)
  2. Hot, yummy and timely food prepared my mommy dear - three times a day! What more to ask for. Blissful.
  3. Cool breeze, evening rain and a pleasant weather in owise hot Chennai. It gave an opportunity to bring back mother from her walk. Refreshing feeling.
  4. Someone visited me late in the evening though he was busy. Felt great to see u.
  5. Brother called amidst his struggle with month end targets. Bless him.
  6. Felt good to read my friend's blog and thought abt her and some happy moments together. Maybe, I should write to her. Will I?
  7. Writing this post and hoping to write more. Be happy!

Nobody to talk to...

One of those times when nobody seems to be interested in talking. That does not necessarily mean that there is nobody around! Its only that there are no topics of common interest or indifferent moods! Add to this the situation that people whom you call are not picking and nobody else also calls you!
:-(

Thank God for internet!

Is it late to make a new year resolution?

It again dawned on me today that I need to mellow down a lot. I badly want to get rid of the kind of anger or rather I would say ‘irritation’ that seems to have grown along with me and threatens to spoil the inner peace. I remember a lot of incidents and situations of late which I could have handled in a much better and smoother way, provided I had retained my cool. It is high time I stop being cynical and learn to appreciate things the way they are.

Its never too late for a resolution ;-)

BTW, for the maths puzzle, the answer is: I got the berth ;-)

Now I'm puzzled abt the return ticket! Fingers remain crossed.

Friday, January 8

Here's a maths puzzle...

What is the probability of getting a berth in tonight train when the current status is RAC3 ?
- It is for 2nd AC coach
- There is only one train that covers this destination and also some key places in the route
- It is the weekend beginning
- There is the festival week ahead

And a positive factor that I'm a
- Single lonely woman passenger ;-)

Keeping fingers crossed!

One of the resolutions for this year is to blog more frequently this year !
Keeping fingers crossed.

BTW, I donot have any other resolutions to break ;-)

Have fun!

Marriage...

Its a long long time since my last post. Its not that I dint want to or dint have the time. Its mainly the content or lack of it.
So, here's something that I can discuss with you - Does 'Marriage' bring with it complications which outweigh 'Love' between partners?
If it is great to be in love and good to live-in, why is marriage seen as only a commitment (of course I am referring to those who think in that way and they make most part of humankind, these days!)

Just like love is synonymous with heart-breaks, marriage is synonymous with arguments and conflicts.
Sometimes, after a small argument or mis-understanding or difference in opinion, I wonder if it is a healthy sign of two persons bonding together or getting away from each other. And after a heated discussion, I get into the contemplative mode if I did the right thing by getting into a commitment without giving too much of thought and was only led by feelings at that moment. I know, this is a dangerous sign and shouldn't nurture this beyond that level. But, what if it is true? I am scared of the answer! I hope this thought is only momentary and gets drowned in the long run.

Q is : Is the Nobel prize sponsored by White House?

Relationship & expectations

How to be in a relationship without expectations? This was the discussion I had with my colleagues over tea time. Everyone except me were arguing that it is not possible to lead a life without expectations. One even went to the extent to say that his goal in life is to have expectations (read as results).
We humans have got into a situation where we cannot think of doing an activity without knowing the result, forget about expectations! In a result oriented society, everything is based on outcome and we are trained that way since our birth. The charm of the life is that we still continue to love or 'expected' to love and love selflessly in certain relationships. but, is that feasible? How can a person be pragmatic in everything else but in one or few relationships?
I donno.

Back home

I'm happy to be back in Blr, as always :)
Had a refreshing week away from the ground realities and this helped in giving a new perspective to certain things. So, I would rate this trip as good!

Well, just remembered this quote : Not taking a decision is also a decision, but many times it is not the right decision.

Q in the dream

"What is that one place I want to go and you wouldn't take me to ?"

Well, it just happened that it my early morning dream(on which I don't have any more details, obviously) I remember asking or wanting to ask this question. I don't even know to whom this question was supposed to be addressed.
All I could recollect was that I woke up wondering where I was and by instinct typed the question in the mobile so that I don't forget that interesting Q and went back to sleep soon after that.
Only when I read the note in my mobile later in the day, I recollected the incident.

hmmm... quite interesting and 'm extremely curious to know the answer and more abt the other person:-)

Rakhi and human Multi-threading !

Are we amazed by threads? Especially in India where we have sacred threads around many parts of our body!
  • Women have the sacred yellow thread around the neck, as part of wedding ritual and is the key identifier for her marital status
  • Sacred threads around neck as chain or necklace
  • Multiple colored sacred threads (Black, red, yellow etc) around the wrists to ward off evil
  • Safeguarding threads around the arm biceps :-)
  • Threads around the upper torso for men(women too in some cases), popularly known as 'cross-belt' in some communities
  • Threads around the waist, esp. for babies
  • A decorated thread - Rakhi from sisters to brothers to protect them lifelong
  • Threads around wrists during wedding rituals for bride, groom and parents based on the community/family practices
  • Threads around ankles is only for fashion purposes I suppose
  • Friendship bands around wrists are common in western countries as well
I don't know if some of the above will get classified as superstitious practices or will get permitted as mere beliefs and confidence building measures :-)
Anyways, a piece of thread bonds us to many relationships, sometimes with the super power as well!

Well, to my dear bro'r: Here's wishing you a great year and a wonderful lifetime! And may God bless you with all that you wish for!Love u!
And for others : Happy Raksha bandan and enjoy threading:-)
